These Terms govern your use of ranktheplayers.com and related pages (the "Service"), operated by Rank the Players ("we", "us"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Rank the Players is a light-hearted game in which visitors pick their favorite between two footballers named in the 2026 FIFA World Cup squads, producing a crowd-sourced popularity ranking. Rankings are the aggregated preferences of whoever happens to be voting. They are a form of entertainment and opinion, and not statements of fact about any person, nor a measure of any person's worth, ability or character.
Rank the Players is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, authorised, sponsored or endorsed by FIFA, any football federation or confederation, any club, any competition, or any player or other individual featured on the Service. All team and tournament names are used for identification and commentary only. Trade marks and names belong to their respective owners.
Players shown are public figures named in published 2026 World Cup squads. Biographical facts and photographs come from publicly available, openly-licensed sources (e.g. Wikidata / Wikimedia Commons), are used subject to their licences with attribution, and only adults are included. If you are a featured person (or their authorised representative) and want to be removed, email [email protected] and we will act on your request. See the Privacy Policy for how we handle personal data.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information, and do not impersonate others or create accounts to evade limits or bans. You may delete your account at any time; see Data Deletion.
You agree not to:
"Supervotes" are an optional in-app feature used to push a favourite player on the separate "Hype" board. They are a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to a cosmetic feature, have no monetary value, are not currency, and cannot be redeemed for cash. Supervotes are provided free (e.g. a daily allowance, a voting bonus and referral rewards) and are not offered for sale. If we introduce paid supervotes in the future, additional purchase terms (including refund rules and any required consumer-law rights) will apply and be presented at that time. We may change, limit or discontinue the feature.
You may optionally make a voluntary donation to support the project. A donation is a gift toward development and running costs. It is not a purchase and gives you no goods, supervotes, player content or in-game advantage in return. Donations are processed by Stripe on its own hosted page. Except where consumer law requires otherwise, donations are non-refundable; for any donation question or refund request, contact [email protected].
The Service's design, code and original content are owned by us or our licensors. Player photos and facts remain subject to their source licences (with attribution shown in the app). You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial enjoyment only; you may not copy, resell or commercially exploit the Service or its data without our permission.
We rely on third parties to operate the Service, including Supabase (database, authentication), Cloudflare (hosting, delivery, security), Stripe (processing optional voluntary donations), and Google/Facebook (only if you choose to sign in with them). Your use of those features may also be subject to those providers' terms.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted or error-free operation. Rankings and other outputs are opinion-based and provided for entertainment; you rely on them at your own discretion.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms.
We may suspend or terminate access, including for conduct that violates these Terms or threatens the integrity or safety of the Service, and we may modify or discontinue the Service at any time.
We may update these Terms; we will revise the "Last updated" date above when we do. Material changes may also be signalled in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the operator's place of establishment, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of its competent courts, except where mandatory local consumer-protection law gives you other rights.
